Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Educational Aim of the Department

It trains engineers who continue their careers in companies serving in the electrical and electronic engineering sector or operating in the fields of information technologies. Alternatively, our graduates can plan their careers by continuing their graduate studies.

Establishment

Established on 15 July 1997 with the Law No. 4281, Istanbul Kültür University started its efforts to establish the Department of Electronics Engineering with the decision taken by the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture on 20 January 2004. The Department of Electronics Engineering welcomed its first students in Ataköy Campus in the 2004-2005 academic year with the permission of YÖK on June 3, 2004. The department started to accept DGS students as of September 26, 2006 and started its minor program with IKU Department of Computer Engineering on March 01, 2007. With the Senate Decision dated April 11, 2013, our department has become able to do a Double Major with any undergraduate program at Istanbul Kültür University.

The name of the Department of Electronics Engineering was changed to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with the application made to the Higher Education Institution at the beginning of the 2014-2015 Spring semester and accepted with the letter dated 7 May 2015.

Degree

Students who successfully complete all the courses in the four-year education plan, have at least 240 ECTS and complete the 40-day mandatory internship receive a bachelor's degree in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction is English, and the English Preparation Class is compulsory for those who have an insufficient level of English.
